question: how did you get into card making?
answer: I have loved crafting and creating my whole life. I couldn’t get my hands on enough pens and paper to draw and write on. When I was old enough, my mom always instilled in me to write my own thank you cards to people for their kindness or gifts received. I started doing cross stitch projects when I was first married, loving all the colors of the floss. I did crochet a couple of afghans during that time too. Still the same love…all the colors and textures of yarn. Flash forward to after having children. I took a ton of pictures and wanted to create scrapbooks for them. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming making a whole album. Takes a bit of time. I started seeing cards being made from all of the materials I already owned. You could get them done quickly and it felt like you completed something. I do love going back and forth between cards and scrapbooking. But when I have just a little extra time, it’s card making I turn to. Enjoy my creations!
question: how did you get into card making?
answer: to simply put it, my mom and I share the love of creativity that comes with making cards or scrapbooks. I remember when I was a little girl I would make my own scrapbooks and mimic what my mom was doing. As I grew older, I stepped away from it for a while. However, in my early twenties I started to go on these retreats with my mom. Really just to spend more quality time with her, but I found that love of creating again. However, this time with card making. I have been going to these retreats at Swan Lake or Lake Poinsett for at least six years. I have made wonderful friends there and I get to step away from reality and create these cards to share with my family and friends. I am excited to now share this new journey with my mom and our love for creating!
